Armorcast Warhound: Canis Messorem PiP

Greetings once again InterWebs!!!!! Well it has been an incredibly busy time around here lately, work has picked up again, the weather has cooled off a bit, and GENCON is this week!!!!! GenCon is an incredible time filled with SO MUCH TO DO and it is a time that I get to hangout with friends from all over the world! I can't wait! I did manage to sneak in some time in the hobby room between packing for GenCon and everything else demanding my attention. In preparation for my trip down to Feast of Blades I continued to work on my Chaos Warhound Titan from Armorcast. If you remember the Warhound Canis Messorem (The Reaper's Hound) sat in this state when I left it so I 'got stuck in' and started laying down the paint.

I thought long and hard about what color to paint a Chaos Titan that would stand out from all the other Chaos Titans out there. I did not want to take the easy route and paint it Red and Brass as that is all I really see these days, I did not want to paint it Black (Legio Mortis) or Greenish (Nurgleish)..............

Here she sits all prepped for paint. I took the advice of several people and added banner holders:

So the internal debate continued about the color until......................

To begin the fading to black:

Fading to black continues:

I continued to work on the purple/black fading but also decided that I needed to add some other colors around the main body colors to see what the main color would actually look like. I neglected to snap some shots of the further work in the painting process that got the Warhound to this stage. Here is where Canis Messorem sits at this point before I jet off to GenCon:

Oh....Who is the good dog with his big wet black nose.......

I think the upper carapace is coming along nicely:

Here is Canis Messorem (Reaper's Hound) put together to see how the whole thing is looking:

I still have a bunch of work still to do with this piece: Bone, Chains, Icons, Banners, etc. I am pleased with how everything is coming along. What do you think? Have I brought some 'fight' back into this old model? Thanks for stopping by and taking a look! Take care!

  1. Like the color choice. Don't think I've heard of that color combo. It looks good, blending to the dark. I can't wait to see it finished!
    Have fun at GenCon :)
