First off are the Blood Angel Scout Snipers:
Here are a couple of shots of the Camouflage cloaks. I tried for an Autumn-style and it actually shows up better than the pictures show......hmmm.
It is hard to take a picture of these cloaks due to the angles and light glare. I must look into a better solution.
As I was painting the Scouts I was also painting several other models (I like to batch paint) and a few of those miniatures were Veteran Sergeants with Power Weapons (to swap out for normal Sergeants when needed). There are 2 Jump Pack equipped miniatures and a Tactical Sergeant.

ReplyDeleteI used to play around with photography; have you tried cutting the flash with:
1. a piece of "bubble wrap" (transparent but will absorb the flashiest part of the flash).
2. A different platform (grey/black/red) to absorb flash)
3. shoot the cloaks through plastic wrap (red) to show contrasting color... wouldn't show colors as anywhere near true, but would show color patches/contrast.
3a. Interested? Confused? Look up quiliting tool to show contrasts of fabrics... Will it work??? i dunno, you're the expert :)
Amazing work... glad there are people willing (and patient) to make stuff like this.

Wow, thanks for the suggestions about the photography. I have never really messed around with photography other than just point and click. I will look into your suggestions although I do not use a flash when I take the above photos. I know I would like to get a better light tent and that should help diffuse the lights a bit better. Thanks again for the suggestions and comments!
