Blood Angels Damocles Command Rhino

Greetings once again! Last weekend I painted several Blood Angel vehicles and recently showed you the two Land Raiders. Well now is the time to reveal the third vehicle that was painted at the same time.....

I have had this kit for many years and finally found the time to paint it. Since it is a Command vehicle I wanted to make sure there was plenty of 'bling' on it. I also really wanted the interior to be visible as much as possible so I hinged the side door of the Damocles.

I am quite pleased with how the hinge-area painted up. I must remember next time to paint the side door at the same time as the interior. I am thinking of doing the same treatment to my Death Company Rhino but doing it to both doors. I might give a look at putting the hinge on the inside somewhere but I am not sure. I should use the Internet and see what others have come up with.

Thanks for looking! Comments are always welcome!
Take Care,
David

  1. From your previous post; would you have something to "practice" dirtying/weathering something? I would think anything would do, then you could play and if it didn't turn out... there is alway ways to "undo" LOL!

Nice paint jobs, wish I had the time and space to get my paints out again.

    Sighing with envy;

    1. That is a great idea! I could practice and not worry about screwing up one of my models. Now to actually get some weathering powders.

      Thanks for the kind comments!

  2. Nice work! I'm always impressed by folks who go the extra distance and paint the inside of their tanks.

    Ron, FTW

    1. Thanks Ron! The Interior of the Damocles is just to cool not to paint it! I am thinking of doing a normal Rhino interior for the Death Company. I figure that GW went to the effort to detail the interior it should be painted.

  3. I couldn't agree with Ron more. Going the extra mile to paint the interior of a tank is impressive. Yours looks great.

    1. Thanks! I think it is a shame not to paint the interiors, they are detailed after all!

  4. Hi David; one of my friends was looking at your blog and likes the pictures, but has no idea of the scale (just saw your recent post). I told him about how big they were, and he goggled, open-mouthed (funny that!)

Would you be able to include a scaled object in one of your shots for the people like us who aren't sure Exactly what you've done? Soda can, ruler, water bottle, etc.

    Thanks again!

    1. Thanks! I have always had a soft spot in my heart for the Damocles. I think it is a very cool kit, especially with the marines inside pounding away at the keyboards! Thanks for looking!
