Blood Angel Librarium: PiP
Greetings once again InterWebs!!! It has been a snowy couple of days lately (with more to come it seems) so I had a little time today to step into the hobby room and sit at the painting desk. I decided to work on the three Blood Angel Librarians waiting for me. I have three Librarians: 1 in power armor and jump pack, 1 in Terminator armor (from the Space Hulk boardgame), and 1 in power armor (done up as a Death Watch Librarian). Dante's Triumph: work in progress
Greetings once again InterWebs!!!! Well it has been extra snowy here of late but I did manage to sneak into the 'hobby room' to work on something special. I am basically at the end of my current Blood Angel 4th company project only having 7 characters left to paint so to treat myself (and the army) I decided to do a little something special for the Chapter Master Dante. I thought it might look cool to have Dante 'working over' a Chaos Marine.
So to start with I gathered a bunch of Chaos Marine bits and mounted Dante securely to his base in an aggressive pose:
I sanded smooth and flat an area to mount the Chaos Marine's foot to the edge of the base.
Knowing that the Chaos Marine would be attached to the base at only this point I wanted to make sure he stayed put; I ran a metal pin (paper clip) diagonally into the base through his foot and up into his thigh.
While waiting for the glue to dry on the legs I worked on the torso, head, and left arm pose and once the leg assembly was nice and dry I attached the upper torso assembly to the legs (with another metal pin).
The Chaos Marine is very securely attached at this point (and not going anywhere) so it was just a matter of covering up any of the gaps and metal pins with green stuff sculpted to look like the ribbed under armor (which would show more in this pose I think).
Dante's point of view so far:
Dante is equipped with a very nasty pistol which I want to show having been used on the traitor. My thought was to have a large furrow just clipping the left side of the Chaos Marine (thus the spinning sideways a bit pose). So I needed to make sure the left side of the model was done at this point (as that is where the damage will be applied).
Now to apply the damage to the area keeping in mind that it should look like a semi-circle furrow of intense heat and that it should be along a line. Here is what I came up with:
I did this very easily with a hot nail (HELD IN PLIERS) laid across the area and allowed to sink in a bit. I think it turned out rather well and will look great once it is all painted up. At this point it was just a matter of finishing off the chainsword in his left hand and his right arm assembly.

I am not sure yet on the paint scheme I will use for the traitor Chaos Marine. I would love to hear your thoughts/suggestions on what he should be painted up as! Thanks for stopping by and taking a look! Take care!

Painted: Blood Angels Tactical and Devastator Squads
Greetings once again InterWebs!!! I would like to present to you my completed Blood Angel 4th Company Tactical Squad and Devastator Squad. These are the last of the non-Death Company Blood Angel Infantry, leaving just a selection of Heroes (Head Quarter choices) left to paint before I step away from the Blood Angels for a while. Knowing these were last squads I found myself rushing during the paint process and every time I noticed I stepped away from the paint desk for a while; I did not want to rush and ruin the last few squads. Well, here is Tactical Squad deMotto:
Sergeant deMotto is an older Blood Angel miniature (3rd or 4th edition I think) and I just had to use him with this project. He is a little gaudy with his blood drop earring but I think he looks OK in the end.
This squad was built using old out of print metal Death Company miniatures with some minor modifications. Both of my Tactical Squads are made this way; if you would like to see how I did this you can look here. The only miniatures in the squad not made from the old metal miniatures are Sergeant deMotto and the Multi-Melta trooper.
I really like how this miniature turned out, very dynamic I think.
When it comes time to use a Devastator Squad I find my use tending to either anti-horde or anti-tank so I made both options for the squad allowing me to swap miniatures out as needed. I went with Heavy Bolters for the anti-horde and Lascannons for anti-tank. I generally do not mix and match heavy weapons tending to use 4 of the same type of weapon (either Hvy Bolters x4 or Lascannons x4); my outlook is 'if you are going to shoot at something, make sure it is dead'! Well, here is the as yet unnamed Devastator Squad:

Painted: Blood Angel Scouts and Veteran Sergeants
Greetings once again InterWebs!!! It has been a little while since I have talked with you all but I am still here and still finding some time to get into the hobby room. While some of my free time has been planning and purchasing for my next BIG hobby project (Heresy Salamanders) I have still been plugging away at the last of the Blood Angel Infantry. I managed to finish up quite a bit and would like to present to you my Blood Angel Scout Snipers and a couple of Veteran Sergeants.
First off are the Blood Angel Scout Snipers:
Here are a couple of shots of the Camouflage cloaks. I tried for an Autumn-style and it actually shows up better than the pictures show......hmmm.
As I was painting the Scouts I was also painting several other models (I like to batch paint) and a few of those miniatures were Veteran Sergeants with Power Weapons (to swap out for normal Sergeants when needed). There are 2 Jump Pack equipped miniatures and a Tactical Sergeant.
